It was distantly followed by Russia (X units), achieving a 14% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Russia (-5.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 43%. Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+1.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, the amount of horizontal machining centres for working metal imported in the CIS skyrocketed to X units, increasing by 22% compared with 2020. In general, imports, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 60%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia totaled -3.8%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-2.3% per year) and Kazakhstan (-5.4% per year).

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, waning by -3.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 50%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
