In value terms, hot-rolled round stainless steel exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 50%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia represented the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at 84% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), committing a 16% share of total exports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of hot-rolled round bars of stainless steel. At the same time, Belarus (+59.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Russia was the largest importer of hot-rolled round bars of stainless steel in the CIS, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 80% of total imports in 2021.
