From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia and Uzbekistan increased by +17 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest washing and drying machine supplier in the CIS, comprising 89% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports.
In Russia, washing and drying machine exports expanded at an average annual rate of +15.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (-2.3% per year) and Uzbekistan (+32.8% per year).

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 5.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, overseas purchases of household washing and drying machines increased by 9.7% to X tons, rising for the fifth year in a row after four years of decline. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 52%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, washing and drying machine imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia was the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which resulted at 47% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Azerbaijan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons), together generating a 44% share of total imports. The following importers - Moldova (X tons) and Tajikistan (X tons) - together made up 5.5% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +68.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported household washing and drying machines in the CIS, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 9.7% share.
In Russia, washing and drying machine imports contracted by an average annual rate of -6.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+6.1% per year) and Belarus (+6.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
