While the share of Russia (+10 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-10.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest fruit-preparation industrial machinery supplier in the CIS, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 15% share of total exports.

In Belarus, fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports contracted by an average annual rate of -7.7% over the period from 2012-2021.

From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery imports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 143%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Russia (X units) was the key importer of industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables, mixing up 58% of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 20% share, followed by Kazakhstan (12%). The following importers - Armenia (X units), Uzbekistan (X units) and Belarus (X units) - together made up 7.8% of total imports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+29.6%), Armenia (+16.0%), Kazakhstan (+14.2%), Uzbekistan (+12.3%) and Belarus (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +29.6% from 2012-2021. While the share of Kyrgyzstan (+17 p.p.), Kazakhstan (+6.4 p.p.), Uzbekistan (+3.1 p.p.) and Armenia (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-28.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables in the CIS, comprising 57% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 3.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia amounted to +2.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (-17.6% per year) and Kazakhstan (-5.8% per year).

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -17.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the import price increased by 77% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
