In 2022, imports of iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows in the CIS rose markedly to X units, picking up by 11% against the year before. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 25%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The following importers - Azerbaijan (X units), Tajikistan (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) - together made up 9.4% of total imports.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -10.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+20.0%) and Azerbaijan (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +20.0% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belarus (-5.1%), Tajikistan (-10.0%) and Kyrgyzstan (-14.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kazakhstan (+12 p.p.), Uzbekistan (+8.2 p.p.) and Azerbaijan (+2.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Kyrgyzstan (-2.7 p.p.) and Russia (-21.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows in the CIS, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 9.3% share.
In Russia, imports of iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows plunged by an average annual rate of -7.5% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (-1.1% per year) and Uzbekistan (+37.7% per year).
