The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Armenia (+6.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of lathes for removing metal increased by 14% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. Russia represented the largest importer of lathes for removing metal in the CIS, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was approx. 75% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), constituting a 16% share of total imports. Kazakhstan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -2.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+47.0%) and Belarus (+17.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +47.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-2.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Belarus and Uzbekistan increased by +12 and +3.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported lathes for removing metal in the CIS, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 9.1% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 4.5% share.
In Russia, lathe for removing metal imports shrank by an average annual rate of -2.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-2.3% per year) and Uzbekistan (+27.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -6.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the import price increased by 25%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit.
