Lemon and lime exports soared to X tons in 2022, with an increase of 17% against the year before. Overall, exports enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 473% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, lemon and lime exports stood at $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 300% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Uzbekistan (X tons) and Russia (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together generating 91% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Tajikistan (X tons), committing a 4.6% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Tajikistan (with a CAGR of +56.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the export price increased by 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 7.7%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then dropped modestly in the following year.

In value terms, lemon and lime imports reached $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 14%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X.
