Loudspeaker Market Size in CIS

The CIS loudspeaker market declined to $X in 2022, which is down by -5.3% against the previous year. The total consumption indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. For the sixth consecutive year, the CIS recorded growth in shipments abroad of loudspeakers, which increased by 11% to X units in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 139%. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, loudspeaker exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 122% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Russia represented the largest exporter of loudspeakers in the CIS, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 56% of total exports in 2022. Belarus (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 34% share, followed by Kazakhstan (7.2%). Armenia (X units) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Armenia (with a CAGR of +74.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 91% of total exports. Armenia lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further 7.6%.

Armenia, with a CAGR of +91.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 93% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in CIS

In 2022, loudspeaker imports in the CIS fell to X units, which is down by -9.4% against the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 34%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, loudspeaker imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

Imports by Country

Russia dominates imports structure, reaching X units, which was approx. 82% of total imports in 2022. Belarus (X units) held a 7.4% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (5.6%). Uzbekistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to loudspeaker imports into Russia stood at -2.5%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+10.5%), Belarus (+10.0%) and Kazakhstan (+6.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +10.5% from 2012-2022. While the share of Belarus (+4.9 p.p.), Kazakhstan (+2.8 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+2.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (-11.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported loudspeakers in the CIS, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled -1.3%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (+8.1% per year) and Belarus (+6.1% per year).

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 3.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
