In value terms, the largest machine-tool for drilling supplying countries in the CIS were Belarus ($X), Russia ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X), together comprising 95% of total exports. Armenia lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further 4%.

Armenia, with a CAGR of +13.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 14% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 29%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, the amount of machine-tools for drilling, boring or milling metal imported in the CIS amounted to X units, leveling off at 2021 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate mild growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 57%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, machine-tool for drilling imports fell modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a deep reduction.
