In 2022, overseas shipments of machinery for solid-liquid separation decreased by -5.3% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 430%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, solid-liquid separator exports fell to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 580%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 83% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), mixing up a 9.3% share of total exports. The following exporters - Kazakhstan (X units) and Armenia (X units) - together made up 6.3% of total exports.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Armenia (+35.2%) and Belarus (+9.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +35.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-6.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+6.2 p.p.), Armenia (+2.5 p.p.) and Belarus (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-10.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest solid-liquid separator supplier in the CIS, comprising 85% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 6.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Armenia, with a 3.7% share.

In Russia, solid-liquid separator exports expanded at an average annual rate of +13.7% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+7.2% per year) and Armenia (+47.2% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per thousand units, rising by 5% against the previous year. Export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, solid-liquid separator export price increased by +87.7% against 2013 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 28%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per thousand units), while Kazakhstan ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

Solid-liquid separator imports reduced to X units in 2022, waning by -5.9% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, solid-liquid separator imports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 67%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Russia represented the key importer of machinery for solid-liquid separation in the CIS, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 70% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Belarus (5.8%) and Azerbaijan (5.3%). Uzbekistan (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of machinery for solid-liquid separation. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+25.6%), Azerbaijan (+5.4%) and Belarus (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth.
