Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 121% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, mechanical shovel and excavator imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 110%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Russia (X units) was the largest importer of mechanical shovels, excavators and shovel loaders, creating 72% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Uzbekistan (X units). All these countries together took approx. 20% share of total imports. The following importers - Belarus (X units), Azerbaijan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units) - each recorded a 5% share of total imports.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 6.6% share.
