Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +73.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-15.7%) and Azerbaijan (-19.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kazakhstan (+11 p.p.), Moldova (+3.2 p.p.), Kyrgyzstan (+3 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-3.5 p.p.), Azerbaijan (-4.3 p.p.) and Russia (-12.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported microscopes and diffraction apparatus in the CIS, comprising 96% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 2.7% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 0.9% share.
