Belarus, with a CAGR of +2.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 30% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+4.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, imports of video monitors in the CIS rose significantly to X units, with an increase of 13% on the year before. Total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +133.1% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, video monitor imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

Russia prevails in imports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 82% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units), together generating a 14% share of total imports.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+9.2%) and Kazakhstan (+3.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +9.2% from 2012-2021. While the share of Belarus (+2.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-3.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported video monitors in the CIS, comprising 87% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 5.4% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia amounted to +7.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (+2.8% per year) and Belarus (+2.5% per year).

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 11% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the import price increased by 12% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
