In 2021, the CIS non-lawn mower market increased by 13% to $X, rising for the fifth consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a pronounced downturn. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The volume of export peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-lawn mower exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Belarus dominates exports structure, reaching X units, which was approx. 89% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Russia (X units), creating a 9% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) held a minor share of total exports.

Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of non-lawn mowers and cutter bars. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+3.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +3.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Russia (-2.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Belarus (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -2.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 28% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +11.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-3.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+12 p.p.) and Moldova (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus and Russia saw its share reduced by -2.3% and -13.3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-lawn mowers and cutter bars in the CIS, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 5.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia amounted to -7.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+6.9% per year) and Belarus (-7.3% per year).
