The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the production volume increased by 163% against the previous year. Non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports fell to X litres in 2022, dropping by -8.8% against the previous year. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X litres. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports shrank to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +14.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 71% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Russia was the main exporting country with an export of around X litres, which finished at 71% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X litres), achieving an 18% share of total exports. Moldova (X litres), Uzbekistan (X litres), Armenia (X litres) and Belarus (X litres) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+13.9%) and Armenia (+5.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +13.9% from 2012-2022. Moldova experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Uzbekistan (-7.8%) and Belarus (-14.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan increased by +8.5, +6.7 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk supplier in the CIS, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Moldova, with a 3.8% share.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the export price increased by 8.6%. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per litre), while Uzbekistan ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, approx. X litres of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk were imported in the CIS; waning by -15% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 33%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X litres. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports declined to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Azerbaijan, with a 7.2% share.
