Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +41.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-7.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belarus (+3.9 p.p.) and Moldova (+2.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-5.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest non-electric industrial furnace supplier in the CIS, comprising 72% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 2.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at -3.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+28.5% per year) and Kazakhstan (+18.5% per year).

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-electric industrial furnace imports dropped notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a deep slump.
