The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, optical fiber, bundle and cable imports declined to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Russia was the key importer of optical fibers, bundles and cables in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Azerbaijan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an X% share, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X%), Uzbekistan (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%). Armenia (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%), Kyrgyzstan (X%), Azerbaijan (X%), Armenia (X%) and Moldova (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively.
