Belarus (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (X%).
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

For the sixth year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in supplies from abroad of optical fibers, bundles and cables, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, optical fiber, bundle and cable imports declined to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Imports by Country
Russia was the key importer of optical fibers, bundles and cables in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Azerbaijan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an X% share, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X%), Uzbekistan (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%). Armenia (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%), Kyrgyzstan (X%), Azerbaijan (X%), Armenia (X%) and Moldova (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported optical fibers, bundles and cables in the CIS, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Azerbaijan, with an X% share.
