Other Agglomerates Market Size in CIS

The CIS other agglomerates market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2022, after three years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate significant growth. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +13.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 63% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) was the main exporter of other agglomerates, making up 83% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), making up a 17% share of total exports.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the other agglomerates exports, with a CAGR of -3.7% from 2012 to 2022. Belarus (-8.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Russia (+9.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Belarus saw its share reduced by -9.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest other agglomerates supplier in the CIS, comprising 71% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 29% share of total exports.

In Russia, other agglomerates exports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2012-2022.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 3.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Russia stood at $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+8.2%).

In 2022, imports of other agglomerates in the CIS surged to X tons, increasing by 35% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 111% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, other agglomerates imports soared to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +59.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Moldova (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) were the largest importers of other agglomerates in the CIS, together generating 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), mixing up a 15% share of total imports. Russia (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Moldova (with a CAGR of +11.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Moldova ($X), Belarus ($X) and Russia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 82% of total imports.

Moldova, with a CAGR of +18.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -8.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a slight slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 33%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
