Russia represented the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which resulted at 67% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), committing a 26% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+60.8%), Azerbaijan (+9.4%) and Belarus (+1.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +60.8% from 2012-2022. While the share of Russia (+5.9 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+3.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Belarus (-10.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest non-aqueous paint and varnish supplier in the CIS, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with an 8.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to +3.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (-1.4% per year) and Kazakhstan (+59.6% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 9.9%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

While the share of Uzbekistan (+7.9 p.p.), Belarus (+2.6 p.p.) and Azerbaijan (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (-16.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
