Wood milling machine imports expanded modestly to X units in 2021, picking up by 4.3% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 61%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, wood milling machine imports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wood milling machine imports into Russia stood at -5.3%. At the same time, Belarus (+9.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +9.3% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at -4.8%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-2.3% per year) and Uzbekistan (-6.7% per year).

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, surging by 5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the import price increased by 66%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+0.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
