Plant-Growth Regulators Market Size in CIS

The CIS plant-growth regulators market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2022, after six years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a mild contraction. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 61%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, plant-growth regulators exports expanded significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 60%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Russia (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) dominates exports structure, together constituting 97% of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +663.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest plant-growth regulators supplying countries in the CIS were Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X), with a combined 99% share of total exports.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +743.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 7.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+10.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS

In 2022, supplies from abroad of plant-growth regulators increased by 5.7% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -2.4% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plant-growth regulators imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +18.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the largest importer of plant-growth regulators in the CIS, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was approx. 53% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X tons) took a 31% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Belarus (6%). Moldova (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +22.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest plant-growth regulators importing markets in the CIS were Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X), together accounting for 85% of total imports. Moldova, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 12%.

Among the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +21.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 8.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+3.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
