The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 43%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

Russia was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to 73% of total exports. Belarus (X tons) took a 10% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Armenia (8.9%) and Uzbekistan (6.1%).

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Armenia (+14.5%), Belarus (+5.9%) and Uzbekistan (+3.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +14.5% from 2012-2021. Uzbekistan (+6.1 p.p.), Armenia (+4.3 p.p.) and Russia (+3.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest plastic furniture fittings supplier in the CIS, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 3.4% share.

In Russia, plastic furniture fittings exports increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+8.6% per year) and Uzbekistan (+16.9% per year).

In 2021, purchases abroad of plastic fittings for furniture was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 58% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+16.1%), Moldova (+11.4%), Kazakhstan (+9.3%), Belarus (+7.9%) and Azerbaijan (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +16.1% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus increased by +6.1, +5.9, +3.2 and +1.8 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported plastic fittings for furniture in the CIS, comprising 83% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 5.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 3.5% share.
