The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 42%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Russia (X units) was the major exporter of ploughs for agricultural purposes, generating 73% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), generating a 25% share of total exports.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the ploughs for agricultural purposes exports, with a CAGR of +26.6% from 2012 to 2022. Belarus (-4.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+60 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Belarus (-52.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +33.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, plough imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 61%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Russia (X units) was the major importer of ploughs for agricultural purposes, mixing up 50% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units) and Moldova (X units), together generating a 38% share of total imports. Azerbaijan (X units), Uzbekistan (X units), Belarus (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) took a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +52.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported ploughs for agricultural purposes in the CIS, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Moldova, with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia amounted to +1.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+7.6% per year) and Moldova (+10.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -31.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a slight downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the import price increased by 20% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined notably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
