Uzbekistan was the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which accounted for 57% of total exports. Belarus (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Russia (X tons). All these countries together took near 43% share of total exports.

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 48% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+5.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports of polyester tow and staple, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning fell slightly to X tons in 2022, reducing by -3.9% on the previous year. Total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +70.3% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 19%. Russia prevails in spinning structure, reaching X tons, which was near 80% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), generating an 8.7% share of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to polyester tow and staple, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning imports into Russia stood at +2.5%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+70.3%), Uzbekistan (+39.3%), Kazakhstan (+20.7%) and Azerbaijan (+18.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +70.3% from 2012-2022. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported polyester tow and staple, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning in the CIS, comprising 77% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 3.5% share.
In Russia, imports of polyester tow and staple, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+44.8% per year) and Kazakhstan (+19.5% per year).
