In 2021, the CIS prepared rubber accelerators market decreased by -4.5% to $X for the first time since 2015, thus ending a five-year rising trend. The total consumption indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +35.1% against 2014 indices. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

In value terms, prepared rubber accelerators production fell to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +31.1% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.
Prepared Rubber Accelerators Exports
Exports in CIS
In 2021, overseas shipments of prepared rubber accelerators decreased by -14.4% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after four years of growth. In general, exports, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 204% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, prepared rubber accelerators exports declined to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 126% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Russia prevails in exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. 91% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Armenia (X tons), constituting a 7.5% share of total exports.
Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Armenia (+37.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +37.2% from 2012-2021. While the share of Armenia (+6.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-7.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest prepared rubber accelerators supplier in the CIS, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Armenia ($X), with a 3.5% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled +5.0%.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 33%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Armenia stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+0.3%).
Prepared Rubber Accelerators Imports
Imports in CIS
In 2021, supplies from abroad of prepared rubber accelerators was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, prepared rubber accelerators imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate noticeable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 61%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia dominates imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 92% of total imports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Armenia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of prepared rubber accelerators. At the same time, Armenia (+100.3%), Uzbekistan (+50.8%) and Belarus (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +100.3% from 2012-2021. Uzbekistan (+2.8 p.p.) and Armenia (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -3.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported prepared rubber accelerators in the CIS, comprising 94% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 2.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 1.8% share.
In Russia, prepared rubber accelerators imports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+50.6% per year) and Belarus (-4.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, rising by 17% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 18%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Armenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+1.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
