Russia represented the key exporter of provitamins and vitamins in the CIS, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was near 57% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons), together creating a 42% share of total exports.

Russia, with a CAGR of +27.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -22.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the export price increased by 33% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+14.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, the amount of provitamins and vitamins imported in the CIS totaled X tons, increasing by 7.6% compared with the previous year. In general, imports saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
