The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, non-electric pulley tackle imports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 28%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Russia represented the main importer of pulley tackle and hoists, non-powered by electric motor in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was near 75% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 12% share, followed by Azerbaijan (5.1%) and Belarus (4.9%). Uzbekistan (X units) held a little share of total imports.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Azerbaijan (+25.0%), Uzbekistan (+21.2%) and Kazakhstan (+10.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +25.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Belarus (-8.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kazakhstan (+6.3 p.p.), Azerbaijan (+4.4 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (-2.3 p.p.) and Belarus (-10.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pulley tackle and hoists, non-powered by electric motor in the CIS, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Azerbaijan, with a 5.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (+3.6% per year) and Azerbaijan (+8.1% per year).
