In 2021, the CIS liquid dispensing pump market decreased by -11% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, consumption, however, enjoyed strong growth. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump production contracted sharply to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, continues to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the production volume increased by 192%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

Exports in CIS

In 2021, overseas shipments of pumps for dispensing liquids were finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. Overall, exports posted measured growth. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a remarkable increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Russia represented the main exporting country with an export of about X units, which accounted for 74% of total exports. Belarus (X units) held a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Armenia (8.6%).

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to liquid dispensing pump exports from Russia stood at +3.7%. At the same time, Armenia (+80.0%) and Belarus (+12.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +80.0% from 2012-2021. While the share of Belarus (+8.5 p.p.), Armenia (+8.5 p.p.) and Russia (+6.2 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest liquid dispensing pump supplier in the CIS, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 1.1% share of total exports.

In Russia, liquid dispensing pump exports expanded at an average annual rate of +17.2% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+8.9% per year) and Armenia (+51.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, rising by 81% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 142%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+13.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, purchases abroad of pumps for dispensing liquids decreased by -24.7% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, imports saw a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 44%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2020, and then declined significantly in the following year.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump imports declined to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Kazakhstan (X units) was the main importer of pumps for dispensing liquids, creating 78% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X units), mixing up a 13% share of total imports. Belarus (X units) and Tajikistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the pumps for dispensing liquids imports, with a CAGR of +46.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Tajikistan (+24.7%) and Belarus (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Russia (-21.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan increased by +76 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest liquid dispensing pump importing markets in the CIS were Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X), together comprising 79% of total imports. Tajikistan lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further 1.7%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Tajikistan, with a CAGR of +27.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 22% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the import price increased by 52%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
