In value terms, motor vehicle radiator production shrank slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, continues to indicate a pronounced expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the production volume increased by 3.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, motor vehicle radiator exports in the CIS shrank to X units, declining by -11% against the previous year. Total exports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +8.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 73%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, motor vehicle radiator exports declined significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 73%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined significantly in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Russia (X units) was the main exporter of radiators for motor vehicles, constituting 49% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Belarus (X units), together making up a 47% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to motor vehicle radiator exports from Russia stood at -1.6%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+47.9%), Belarus (+6.3%) and Kyrgyzstan (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +47.9% from 2012-2022. Belarus (+9 p.p.), Kazakhstan (+3.6 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+2.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -15.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, the largest motor vehicle radiator supplying countries in the CIS were Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), together accounting for 97% of total exports. These countries were followed by Kazakhstan, which accounted for a further 1.6%.

Among the main exporting countries, Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +43.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -10.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 25%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS

In 2022, imports of radiators for motor vehicles in the CIS amounted to X units, increasing by 4.8% on the previous year. Total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +23.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 46%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, motor vehicle radiator imports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the key importing country with an import of around X units, which amounted to 61% of total imports. Belarus (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Kazakhstan (X units), Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units). All these countries together took approx. 35% share of total imports. Azerbaijan (X units) took a little share of total imports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of radiators for motor vehicles. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+24.7%), Azerbaijan (+19.6%), Kyrgyzstan (+9.7%), Kazakhstan (+3.4%) and Belarus (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +24.7% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan increased by +4.7, +2.7, +2.4 and +1.8 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported radiators for motor vehicles in the CIS, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia stood at -1.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+0.8% per year) and Kazakhstan (+4.5% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -3% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 18%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Russia ($X per unit) and Belarus ($X per unit), while Azerbaijan ($X per unit) and Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+17.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
