In 2022, the CIS radio receiver market increased by 29% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a pronounced downturn. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, radio receiver production skyrocketed to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, saw a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the production volume increased by 33%. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in CIS
For the fourth year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in overseas shipments of radio receivers, which increased by 286% to X units in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, radio receiver exports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 180% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan was the main exporter of radio receivers in the CIS, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was near 69% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units) and Russia (X units), together committing a 31% share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the radio receivers exports, with a CAGR of +138.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belarus (+61.6%) and Russia (+11.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of Kazakhstan (+69 p.p.) and Belarus (+13 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (-74 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest radio receiver supplier in the CIS, comprising 72% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia stood at +10.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+44.1% per year) and Kazakhstan (+77.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -76.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price faced a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 75%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-0.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2022, purchases abroad of radio receivers increased by 14% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, radio receiver imports reduced slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the largest importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 68% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 17% share, followed by Belarus (9.5%). Kyrgyzstan (X units) took a little share of total imports.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -7.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+69.1%), Kyrgyzstan (+30.5%) and Belarus (+13.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +69.1% from 2012-2022. While the share of Uzbekistan (+17 p.p.), Belarus (+7.9 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (-28.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported radio receivers in the CIS, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 7.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 4.2% share.
In Russia, radio receiver imports contracted by an average annual rate of -10.4% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+33.1% per year) and Belarus (+1.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -14.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 18%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
