In value terms, remote control apparatus exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 698% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Belarus represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached 74% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), creating a 23% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -17.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 42%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+10.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

For the sixth consecutive year, the CIS recorded growth in overseas purchases of radio remote control apparatus, which increased by 20% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, remote control apparatus imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a mild expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Russia dominates imports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. 84% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), generating a 5.5% share of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +18.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Moldova (+42.5%), Belarus (+16.9%), Kazakhstan (+6.5%) and Uzbekistan (+4.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +42.5% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia and Moldova increased by +24 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported radio remote control apparatus in the CIS, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 7.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 5.5% share.

In Russia, remote control apparatus imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+5.1% per year) and Uzbekistan (+9.0% per year).
