From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +10.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, the largest roller bearing supplying countries in the CIS were Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X), with a combined 96% share of total exports.
Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +12.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 42% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in CIS
In 2021, roller bearing imports in the CIS rose sharply to X tons, picking up by 9.5% on 2020 figures. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 118% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, roller bearing imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 108% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the major importer of roller bearings in the CIS, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near 58% of total imports in 2021. Kazakhstan (X tons) held a 15% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (13%). The following importers - Moldova (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Azerbaijan (X tons) and Tajikistan (X tons) - together made up 12% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to roller bearing imports into Russia stood at -5.6%. At the same time, Tajikistan (+37.6%), Azerbaijan (+28.5%), Uzbekistan (+27.9%), Kazakhstan (+19.0%) and Moldova (+12.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +37.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-12.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kazakhstan (+13 p.p.), Uzbekistan (+12 p.p.), Moldova (+3.1 p.p.), Tajikistan (+2.4 p.p.) and Azerbaijan (+2.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-4.9 p.p.) and Russia (-25 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported roller bearings in the CIS, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 6.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to -8.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+6.6% per year) and Uzbekistan (+19.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (-0.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
