From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Moldova totaled +17.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (-29.4% per year) and Russia (+34.7% per year).

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -18.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt slump. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +31.7% from 2012-2021. Moldova experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-3.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belarus (+6.9 p.p.), Kazakhstan (+4.3 p.p.), Tajikistan (+3.4 p.p.), Moldova (+2.5 p.p.) and Azerbaijan (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-20.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported sacks and bags of cotton in the CIS, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a 4.7% share.
