From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to paper bag exports from Russia stood at +16.3%. At the same time, Moldova (+20.1%) and Kazakhstan (+14.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. In Russia, paper bag exports expanded at an average annual rate of +13.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+5.4% per year) and Kazakhstan (+7.7% per year).

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 23% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+4.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, purchases abroad of sacks and bags of paper decreased by -1.5% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 11%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
