Safety Glass Market Size in CIS

The CIS safety glass market declined to $X in 2022, reducing by -1.5% against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2022, the amount of safety glass exported in the CIS dropped rapidly to X square meters, shrinking by -24.4% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 116%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X square meters in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, safety glass exports fell notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded resilient growth. The export price in the CIS stood at $X per square meter in 2022, growing by 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 15% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per square meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per square meter), while Belarus totaled $X per square meter.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of safety glass decreased by -4.3% to X square meters for the first time since 2015, thus ending a six-year rising trend. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X square meters in 2021, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

In value terms, safety glass imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 31%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia prevails in imports structure, reaching X square meters, which was approx. 88% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X square meters), Belarus (X square meters) and Moldova (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to safety glass imports into Russia stood at +5.3%. At the same time, Moldova (+6.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +6.8% from 2012-2022. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 18%. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per square meter), while Russia ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
