Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, copper sanitary ware exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a buoyant expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Belarus was the key exporter of sanitary ware and parts of copper in the CIS, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was near 66% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), mixing up a 34% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +29.4%).

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest copper sanitary ware supplier in the CIS, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 24% share of total exports.

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 90% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus amounted to $X per ton.

Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, copper sanitary ware imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted noticeable growth. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Russia was the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which reached 73% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Belarus (X tons). All these countries together held near 21% share of total imports. Armenia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -2.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Armenia (+26.9%), Belarus (+10.7%) and Kazakhstan (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +26.9% from 2012-2021. Belarus (+6 p.p.), Armenia (+3.1 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+2.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -13.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported sanitary ware and parts of copper in the CIS, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 6.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at +3.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+1.5% per year) and Belarus (+5.8% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 6.1% against the previous year. Import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, copper sanitary ware import price increased by +64.3% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the import price increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+5.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
