The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +38.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 52% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber seal exports reached $X in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Russia was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to 52% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons), together achieving a 44% share of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to vulcanised rubber seal exports from Russia stood at -3.3%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+70.7%) and Belarus (+11.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+14.7% per year) and Kazakhstan (+51.5% per year).

Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber seal imports reached $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +127.3% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) was the key importer of seals of vulcanised rubber, making up 60% of total imports. Belarus (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Uzbekistan (9.4%) and Kazakhstan (8.8%). The following importers - Azerbaijan (X tons), Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) - together made up 8.5% of total imports.

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -1.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+15.5%), Kyrgyzstan (+12.1%), Azerbaijan (+7.7%) and Belarus (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +15.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Moldova (-2.1%) and Kazakhstan (-3.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+9.4 p.p.), Belarus (+2.3 p.p.), Azerbaijan (+2.1 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-3.4 p.p.) and Russia (-12.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
