Overall, imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 116% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, semiconductor thyristor imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X units) represented the main importer of semiconductor thyristors, diacs and triacs, achieving 79% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), creating a 14% share of total imports. The following importers - Uzbekistan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) - together made up 4.6% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to semiconductor thyristor imports into Russia stood at +13.3%. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 14% share.
In Russia, semiconductor thyristor imports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+95.8% per year) and Belarus (+5.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+16.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
