Imports in CIS
For the third consecutive year, the CIS recorded decline in supplies from abroad of soap and organic surface-active products in bars other than for toilet use, which decreased by -3.3% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 11%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of soap and organic surface-active products in bars other than for toilet use dropped modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The countries with the highest levels of imports of soap and organic surface-active products in bars other than for toilet use in 2022 were Tajikistan (X tons), Russia (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons), together finishing at 81% of total import. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
