The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 35%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, straw for fodder balers exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 53%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Belarus represented the major exporting country with an export of around X units, which reached 71% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X units), constituting a 29% share of total exports.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 9.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus amounted to $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-4.9%).

Imports in CIS
In 2021, the amount of straw or fodder balers, including pickup balers imported in the CIS soared to X units, growing by 15% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 113%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, straw for fodder balers imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 152% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the main importer of straw or fodder balers, including pickup balers in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was approx. 58% of total imports in 2021. Belarus (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 18% share, followed by Kazakhstan (15%). Azerbaijan (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, the largest straw for fodder balers importing markets in the CIS were Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X), together comprising 90% of total imports. These countries were followed by Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, which together accounted for a further 5.2%.
Azerbaijan, with a CAGR of +17.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 14% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan (+5.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
