In value terms, wood kitchenware and tableware production expanded remarkably to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, posted strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 77%. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in CIS
For the seventh consecutive year, the CIS recorded growth in shipments abroad of tableware and kitchenware of wood, which increased by 23% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 74% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, wood kitchenware and tableware exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 81%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Russia was the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which accounted for 85% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), achieving an 11% share of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wood kitchenware and tableware exports from Russia stood at +17.5%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+90.2%) and Belarus (+41.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +90.2% from 2012-2021. Belarus (+8.3 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+3.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -11.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest wood kitchenware and tableware supplier in the CIS, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 23% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled +18.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+245.6% per year) and Belarus (+39.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 41% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+81.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Imports of Tableware And Kitchenware Of Wood
Imports in CIS
In 2021, overseas purchases of tableware and kitchenware of wood increased by 0.2% to X tons, rising for the fifth consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, imports recorded a moderate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wood kitchenware and tableware imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Russia was the main importer of tableware and kitchenware of wood in the CIS, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 72% of total imports in 2021. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Belarus (X tons). All these countries together held near 18% share of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tons), Azerbaijan (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Azerbaijan (+70.5%), Kyrgyzstan (+49.7%), Belarus (+20.7%), Kazakhstan (+19.3%) and Moldova (+10.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +70.5% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan increased by +10, +5.6, +3.1 and +2.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported tableware and kitchenware of wood in the CIS, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 9.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 6.1% share.
In Russia, wood kitchenware and tableware imports increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kyrgyzstan (+55.7% per year) and Belarus (+15.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+4.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
