The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, talc and steatite exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 34%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+17.2%), Uzbekistan (+14.4%) and Azerbaijan (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +17.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Belarus (-5.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Azerbaijan ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) and Kazakhstan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
