The following exporters - Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) - each amounted to a 3.8% share of total exports.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+39.3%), Kyrgyzstan (+37.7%) and Belarus (+7.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +39.3% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-31.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan increased by +42, +25, +2.1 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest tap and valve supplier in the CIS, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 3.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia totaled +2.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+8.6% per year) and Kazakhstan (-29.9% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 16% against the previous year. Export price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, tap and valve export price increased by +78.3% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the export price increased by 29% against the previous year. In 2022, the amount of taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances imported in the CIS fell to X tons, waning by -3.1% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, tap and valve imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 16%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Russia (X tons) represented the main importer of taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances, constituting 69% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tons) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (7.1%) and Belarus (5.8%). Azerbaijan (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+26.4%), Belarus (+3.0%) and Azerbaijan (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +26.4% from 2012-2022.
