Test Bench Market Size in CIS

In 2022, after six years of growth, there was decline in the CIS test bench market, when its value decreased by -3.2% to $X. In general, consumption, however, posted strong growth. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

In value terms, test bench production stood at $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, continues to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the production volume increased by 85%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, overseas shipments of test benches increased by 149% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, test bench exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 70%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia dominates exports structure, resulting at X units, which was near 89% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), making up an 8% share of total exports. Moldova (X units) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of test benches. At the same time, Moldova (+10.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +10.6% from 2012-2022. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Moldova (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest test bench supplier in the CIS, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 5.6% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia amounted to -9.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (-8.7% per year) and Moldova (+6.9% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -43.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 91%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Moldova ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (-3.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

For the third year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in overseas purchases of test benches, which increased by 14% to X units in 2022. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +93.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, test bench imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 38%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Russia (X units) represented the major importer of test benches, committing 61% of total imports. Belarus (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 28% share, followed by Uzbekistan (6%). Kazakhstan (X units) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to test bench imports into Russia stood at +3.5%. At the same time, Belarus (+23.4%) and Uzbekistan (+5.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +23.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-4.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Belarus (+21 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan and Russia saw its share reduced by -5.4% and -21.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported test benches in the CIS, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 26% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 7.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to -1.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+19.9% per year) and Uzbekistan (+4.8% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -2.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 23%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Uzbekistan ($X per unit) and Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) and Russia ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
