In value terms, Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 98% of total exports. These countries were followed by Armenia, which accounted for a further 2.2%.
Armenia, with a CAGR of +8.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -46.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 63%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+12.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2021, imports of transporter cranes, gantry cranes and bridge cranes in the CIS dropped significantly to X units, declining by -40.6% compared with the previous year. In general, imports saw a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 94%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, transporter and bridge cranes imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 117% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the major importing country with an import of about X units, which recorded 75% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units), making up an 11% share of total imports. The following importers - Kazakhstan (X units), Tajikistan (X units) and Belarus (X units) - each recorded an 11% share of total imports.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -5.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Tajikistan (+46.4%) and Uzbekistan (+21.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +46.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-13.8%) and Kazakhstan (-17.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+11 p.p.), Russia (+8 p.p.) and Tajikistan (+3.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-3.4 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (-6.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported transporter cranes, gantry cranes and bridge cranes in the CIS, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a 4% share.
In Russia, transporter and bridge cranes imports contracted by an average annual rate of -6.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+26.4% per year) and Tajikistan (+34.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, falling by -2.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 14%.
