In value terms, tuner block exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 263% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Russia (X units) represented the key exporter of tuner blocks, mixing up 79% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), comprising a 13% share of total exports. The following exporters - Moldova (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) - each reached a 7.8% share of total exports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of tuner blocks. At the same time, Moldova (+47.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +47.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-4.7%) and Belarus (-10.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia and Moldova increased by +12 and +4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest tuner block supplier in the CIS, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with an 8.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 4.3% share.

In Russia, tuner block exports contracted by an average annual rate of -13.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (-11.0% per year) and Kazakhstan (-11.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 56% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by 86% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-0.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, tuner block imports in the CIS surged to X units, growing by 16% compared with the previous year. Total imports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -14.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported tuner blocks in the CIS.
