Russia dominates papers structure, reaching X tons, which was near 97% of total exports in 2021. Belarus (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Russia amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-2.3%).

Imports in CIS
In 2021, imports of uncoated wood free printing and writing papers in the CIS reached X tons, increasing by 8.7% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 52% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of uncoated wood free printing and writing papers soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 57% against the previous year. Russia (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) were the major importers of uncoated wood free printing and writing papers in 2021, resulting at approx. 33% and 24% of total imports, respectively. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +183.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest uncoated wood free printing and writing paper importing markets in the CIS were Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X), with a combined 75% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Tajikistan, which together accounted for a further 21%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +153.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 6.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a slight reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 7.2%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Kazakhstan ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) and Tajikistan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan (+4.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
