In 2022, Russia (X tons) represented the main exporter of non-soap washing and cleaning preparations, generating 79% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons), together achieving an 18% share of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of non-soap washing and cleaning preparations. At the same time, Belarus (+18.0%), Uzbekistan (+15.9%) and Kazakhstan (+3.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest non-soap washing and cleaning preparations supplier in the CIS, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 5.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia totaled -2.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+13.8% per year) and Kazakhstan (-3.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 5.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 18%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+12.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Imports of Non-Soap Washing and Cleaning Preparations
Imports in CIS
In 2022, purchases abroad of non-soap washing and cleaning preparations increased by 14% to X tons, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. Total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +71.5% against 2016 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-soap washing and cleaning preparations imports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 20%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the main importer of non-soap washing and cleaning preparations in the CIS, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was approx. 43% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons). All these countries together held near 46% share of total imports. The following importers - Moldova (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) - each amounted to a 6.2% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +150.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-soap washing and cleaning preparations in the CIS, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled +1.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+3.2% per year) and Belarus (+5.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -10.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 6.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+1.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
