In value terms, wheeled loader exports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 176%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Belarus represented the main exporter of wheeled loaders, crawler shovel loaders, front-end loaders in the CIS, with the volume of exports reaching X units, which was near 60% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Russia (X units), achieving a 33% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +4.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest wheeled loader supplier in the CIS, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 15% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Russia represented the key importer of wheeled loaders, crawler shovel loaders, front-end loaders in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was approx. 67% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), achieving a 21% share of total imports. The following importers - Uzbekistan (X units), Belarus (X units) and Tajikistan (X units) - together made up 7.9% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wheeled loader imports into Russia stood at -3.7%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+11.6%), Kazakhstan (+6.6%), Tajikistan (+6.5%) and Belarus (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan (+10 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+3.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -15.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 22%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
