In general, exports, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 28%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X cubic meters. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, exports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates shrank modestly to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -21.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per thousand cubic meters, rising by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced reduction. Imports in CIS

Imports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates skyrocketed to X cubic meters in 2021, rising by 33% on 2020. In general, imports saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 63%. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum at X cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, imports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. All these countries together held near 50% share of total imports. The following importers - Azerbaijan (X cubic meters), Kyrgyzstan (X cubic meters) and Armenia (X cubic meters) - each recorded a 4.9% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates imports into Belarus stood at +22.4%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+54.7%), Armenia (+35.1%), Moldova (+25.9%), Azerbaijan (+10.7%) and Kazakhstan (+8.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +54.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Russia (-5.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belarus (+26 p.p.), Moldova (+12 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-2.9 p.p.) and Russia (-39.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates in the CIS, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Moldova, with a 12% share.

In Russia, imports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+16.6% per year) and Moldova (+16.5% per year).
